It’s our destiny
Our great adventure
A journey we must take
But is a destiny pre-planned or something that we make?
In the cosmos far across the galaxies like the burning light of day
Was this single moment formed with nothing in my way?
OH OH
OH
So how do you start when changing seasons
Can tear things apart without a reason
Soon they come and go
And before you know
Your whole life can rearrange
They leave you without an explanation
A train that’s about to leave the station
Grab on while you can
Try to make a plan
Even though you find it strange
That the seasons have to change
It’s our destiny
Our great adventure
Or just an act of chance?
Just a big mistake you ignore without a second glance
Do we forge a path on our own accords?
Or are we floating in the air?
Doing the best with what we’ve got cause no one really cares
OH OH
OH
So how do you start when changing seasons
Can tear things apart without a reason
Soon they come and go
And before you know
All you’ve known starts passing by
They leave you without an explanation
A train that’s about to leave the station
Grab on while you can
Try to make a plan
Even though you wonder why
Yes you wonder why
Why do seasons keep on changing?
Cause when it’s said and done
You’re only left with what if’s and if only’s
Like if I took a risk would it all be different?
If I had only jumped
If I only jumped
So how do you start a brand new story?
A fable of fate. An allegory
About love and loss
And how paths can cross
Intertwine and interchange
So journey along, and start to follow
The stories of fate and new tomorrows
Climb aboard and see
Tales of you and me
And how life can rearrange
As we find a reason
To why the seasons change

Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Slow walk
Try to talk to Sandy
Hips sway
What to say to Sandy
Say something, said nothing
Next time you’ll get there guaranteed
Say too much, said not enough
Just say…Just say anything
Keep it under pressure
Wait till its your chance
Time to find your moment
Ask her to the dance champ
Time to find the courage
Before the bell can ring
Trying not to blow it
Soon you’re left here singing
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Brown eyes, all the guys like sandy
(What i gotta do to get her?)
soft rock on the walkman…Sandy
(What i gotta do to get her?)
Guys loved her. Guys left her
They didn’t know just what they had
She’s lonely. She needs a friend
Could go…Could go good or bad
Keep it under pressure
Wait till its your chance
Time to find your moment
Ask her to the dance champ
Time to find the courage
Before the bell can ring
Trying not to blow it
Soon you’re left here singing
Why am I fallin’ so hard
I can’t deny my heart for long
With long dark hair
Your ears are ringin’
An empty chair
Don’t be left singin’
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Oh Sandy
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Bum ba dum ba
Wait I think it’s working
Look she likes your song
See how she is smiling
Boy you have been so wrong
Now she’s walking over
Now it is your chance
Oh Sandy
Join me at the dance

Underneath the flight path is my childhood home
Where I’d see the morning jets take flight
Taking people places I had never known
And I’d watch them as they disappeared from sight
I had never ventured out of my hometown
Never thought to take off in blink
But I’d see those morning jets head out of town
I would watch them and it made me start to think
Just what distant lands had I yet to explore?
And the more I wondered I just kept wanting more
What I couldn’t see
Was a land that’s free
To take a chance, to spread my wings and fly
And touch the sky
Father was a product of the working class
And the work got harder year to year
I would see the dreams he had begin to pass
Until they’d all-together disappear
Mother said that when your dreams don’t go as planned
That it must be just an act of fate
And to always trust that there’s higher plan
To take breath, to hold your tongue and wait
I would not have been born with this fire inside
If it was only in me to suppress and to hide
Cause a fire roars
And an eagle soars
And a girl like me must spread her wings and fly
And touch the sky
They say don’t be disappointed
If you end up in the heap
Cause a wiser man once said that you must look before you leap
But I’m looking for adventures that you can’t find in a book
And I don’t think that they realize you must leap
Before you look
So I bought my ticket to a distant land
To a far off world I’ve yet to see
But I have this extra ticket in my hand
And I’m asking you to run away with me
Yes I know it’s crazy, but this old hometown
It has nothing left to offer you
You’ve been treading water trying not to drown
And I think that all this time you always knew
Now’s our chance to leave all that’s ever been bad
Chasing after dreams that my folks never had
Cause we have a voice
And we’ve got the choice
So as for me, at least I gotta try
To touch the sky

Hunny, hunny
Times are getting funny
Like the world is turning upside down
Getting older with the world up on your shoulder
Ans it’s getting harder not to drown
I want a Saturday night with the top down
And the motor runnin’ all through the night
Gonna take a new direction
Time make a new connection tonight
We’re gettin’ hot and free
Makin’ history
Say goodbye to all the guys in the club
Who don’t believe in me
Raise a glass to the fellas skippin’ class
Just to say that they were here tonight
Seven thirty and my baby’s gettin’ flirty
With her fella on a Saturday night
She’s making it harder and harder to resist
With her motor running all through the night
But you better not be snitchin'
Cause her momma’s in the kitchen
We’re gettin’ hot and free
Makin’ history
Say goodbye to all the guys in the club
Who don’t believe in me
We're gettin' hotter
Hot and free
We're gettin' hotter oh oh oh oh
We're gettin'
Hot and free
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
We're gettin' hotter
Hot and free
We're gettin' hotter oh oh oh oh
We're gettin'
Hot and free
We’re gettin’ hot and free
Makin’ history
Say goodbye to all the guys in the club
Say goodbye to all the guys in the club
Say goodbye to all the guys in the club
Who don’t believe in me
Hot hot hot and free
Hot and Free Ohhh
Hot hot hot and Free
Hot and Free

My old man was a boxer
With scars on his forehead
From battles he lost
Any day, any night
He would boast that he’d fight
Any guy that he crossed
I was only eleven
When he said he would teach me
How to fight like a man
He would say with high hopes
That he’d show me the ropes
And every morning, we ran
In the snow
Ohhh
In the snow
We’d go running, running off into the snow
Dad would oft lose his temper
He would shout at my mother
Punch a hole through the wall
And some days it would be
Up to little old me
To end this old brawl
I’d walk into the war zone
He’d turned quick with a right hook
I’d fall down to the floor
And with blood on my mouth he continued to shout
So I ran out the door
In the snow
Ohhh
In the snow
I’d go running, running off into the snow
Just your strength doesn’t make you a hero
Try to listen as much as you can
You can win all the wars
And can slam all the doors
But that still doesn’t make you a man
Cause a war can be stopped without fighting
Without shouting or calling out names
Once it’s all said and done
And you think have won
You’ll be left with the scars and the blame
So my friend, please remember
What makes you a man is not strength or your pride
It’s the love that can grow
And the courage to show
All you’re feeling inside
When you’re out in the big world
If you ever have questions
I will be here to talk
Here to give you a nudge
And to not ever judge
And to go for a walk
In the snow
Ohhh
In the snow
You don’t have to go running, running off
Don’t go running off
Don't go running, running off into the snow
Don't go running, running off into the snow

I have never had much luck with love and fantasies
Never touched by fate or dealt a lucky hand
Being always left in the middle
Cause relationships are a riddle
And they never go exactly as you planned
So I'm always left with questions that need answering
Like how I ended up in the falling snow
Even now it's all a mystery
Just what message mother nature's trying to send
Cause I'll tell you now, this is no fantasy
And Noel Hart is just a friend
I did not expect this night to be worth mentioning
Thought we'd laugh about this in a year or two
But tonight we were laughing together
And the night just kept getting better
Who'd have thought, that all these years I had no clue
Then it soon got dark and right before she walked me home
She kissed me in the falling snow
In that moment love took hold of me
Like a symphony I didn't want to end
It became a winter fantasy
NO! Noel Hart is just a friend
All I've known, I learned the hard way
That you'll always be let down in the end
But she looks at me
And I start to see
Something more than before
So I find myself both starry-eyed and terrified
Because just when I thought that love could not be found
I start thinking life could be better
If the two of us were together
And without a blink she turns the rules around
And I may be drunk but somehow I see clearer now
As I stand here in the falling snow
Even now when she smiles at me
I can feel this broken heart begin to mend
She is now my winter fantasy
Yes Noel Hart is more than just a friend

On the first of January while we’re dancing on the floor
When the clock is striking midnight and champagne’s about to pour
This old hum drum year will take its final bow
Cause lord knows that we all need some change right now
It’s okay to make mistakes tonight in the state we’re living in
And it’s easy now to question how all the good times can begin
When all hope is disappearing
A new future’s in the clearing
And we'll get there on New Years Eve
You can feel it in the moon lit light
You can feel it in the air
And if anybody thinks me odd
You can tell em i don’t care
No other night can hold a candle
So we’re flying off the handle
Counting down from ten and trying this again
This last year was quite the headache
And it came with ups and downs
Why did I let my friends invite my ex when they knew he was in town?
Gotta show him I’m the one who came out on top
So my darlings please just let the champagne pop
Many new years resolutions fail
From just staying in one place
And although he is a real swell guy
I could use a change of space
He says don’t deny emotion
So without causing a commotion
I will tell him
On New Years Eve
Break out the drinks
And in a flash
After twelve winks
On the couch I’ll crash
Make sure to wake me when we’re toasting
Cause you know we’ll all be boasting
That within the crowd
We’re standing tall and proud
No job
Flat tire
Loud kids
Got fired
We can’t crash and burn
Cause there’s still so much left to learn
We put one foot in front of the other
Treat a friend like sister or brother
Try to be there for one another now
We will be there for one another now
We know the government is crumbling hard and the world is up in flames
So let’s just enjoy what we have left while we’re playing party games
Though we don’t know what is coming
To the future we are running
Time to climb a much higher mountain
Coming down from ten we are countin’
How it ends, we’ll have to wait and see how
Oh please God let the New Year start right now
NOW!

Gabbie Adner - Selfish

There’s a train that goes into the city
It’s a train that is leaving today
It gets into the station at seven
And it’s coming to take me away
I need time now to figure some stuff out
And to get my adult life on track
So i packed up my oversized suitcase
And I don’t know when I’m coming back
So I’m sorry if you think that’s selfish
And I’m sorry if you can’t forgive
But for once in my life
I am choosing what life I will live
So it’s time now for me to be selfish
And it’s time now for me to stand tall
Cause until I do so I won’t ever know
Where my life is going at all
Yes of course I would like to find true love
Have a kid and a pink house someday
Meet the love of my life while in high school
And play out that movie cliche
But I’m lost and I don’t know the right path
And there’s so much I still want to do
I’m just not where you are in my life yet
And that just isn’t fair to you
So its fine now and then to be selfish
When it comes to the things that we lack
We need time to explore something more is just right around track
So it’s time now for me to be selfish
Yes its time now for me to stand tall
Cause until we’re both free
We won’t ever see
If this really was true love at all
And perhaps this new plan has no cosmic significance
Perhaps there’s no preassigned fate
I think we both know we need time to grow
On our own before it is too late
So its time now for me to be selfish
I’m sorry but it’s what I must do
And this must be a sign
Being selfish is fine for you too
Yes its time now for you to be selfish
Yes its time now for you to stand tall
Cause until you do so
You won’t ever know where your life is going at all

Six years
Six years have come and gone and passed
And I have found a place where I belong at last
Six friends
Six friends have gone their separate ways
And I’ll think about those days when I am left alone
When I am left alone
Bright lights
Dark stage
Words leaping off the page I write tonight
Those words
She talks
She wants to take a train tonight
And I don’t fight
New worlds created
They’re discovered and explored
Awaiting those who search for something
Something More
Keep it under pressure
Maybe it’s just wrong
Do you have his number?
Haven’t talked in so long
Well you really blew it
What if he’s the one?
Try to keep your head up
Soon you’re left here wondering why
Why can’t seasons keep repeating
Why can’t this stay the same
You’re only left with what if’s and if only’s
Now that I took a risk
Would they even notice
If I had only jumped
If I only jumped
(Overlapping verses)
As we find a reason to why the seasons change

Cassie B - The Long Run

Walking circles down a lonely road
Still embracing for disaster
I am lonely, I’m against all odds
Trying hard to get through the night
Compromising, looking for a sign
Knowing well that you’re disaster
Taking chances on a hopeless dream
And I toss and turn in the night
I just wanna be with you tonight
I can’t keep waiting, no more wasting time
Waiting for someone to make up their mind
I will not go quietly, I will take my time
It is easier said than done
But I’m in it for the long run
The long run
Can you hear me?
Look me in the eye
Please don’t think that you’re above me
Where’d your spine go?
You just go and hide
I just need you to tell me tonight
I’ve been waiting
For an answered prayer
I can’t force you now to love me
I’m losing patience tearing down your walls
Pacing back and forth through the night
I just need you to tell me tonight
I can’t keep waiting, no more wasting time
waiting for someone to make up their mind
I will not go quietly, I will take my time
It is easier said than done
But I’m in it for the long run
Say something
Said nothing
We could have fixed all that’s been wrong
You can’t keep looking for the greener grass
When you’re standing on the lawn
On the lawn
I can’t keep waiting, no more wasting time
Waiting for someone to make up their mind
I will not go quietly, I will take my time
It is easier said than done
But I’m in it for the long run
The Long Run

Dillon Klena - Paris

When I was young
Still twenty one
I traveled cross the sea
Our port of call
Was rather small
But bustling and free
And though it was raining
The air still smelt clean
For everything around us was green
There’s restaurants
And debutantes
On every corner street
They walk alone
On cobblestone
Where none of it’s concrete
I stood on that front deck
My jaw dropped in awe
For that was the first time I saw
Paris, Paris
Shinning and new
Brimming with life and so much to do
And on that bow I made a vow
Once we had sailed away
I would get back to Paris someday
A girl I knew
At twenty two
Was soon to be my wife
We packed a car
And traveled far
to start a brand new life
We found an apartment
In the city by the bay
Thought it’d go on forever that way
We’d soon agree
And start to see
That this was bound to end
With money tight
We’d start to fight
Her bags were packed again
In an empty apartment
With the new scars I’ve earned
I dreamt of the day I’d return to
Paris, Paris
Peaceful and still
With jazz music playing from each windowsill
And starting now
I make a vow
That though it’s far away
I will get back to Paris someday
Sometimes it takes time
To learn and to know
When’s the right time to stay
And the right time to go
But now things are changing
I see how much I’ve grown
And how much I’ve learned on my own
So Paris, dear Paris
Shinning and new
Finally I’m ready to come back to you
Just wait for me
I’ll never leave
I’ll travel just as fast
Off I go
This I know
I’ll be home in Paris
At last

Kid, welcome to your life. There’s no turning back allowed.
Cause now you’ve gotta join the human race
And not get lost in the crowd
Graduation day they told us that our lives would start today
Seems that no one ever really told us it was gonna be this way
You always told me that life moves pretty fast
Those days of glory were never meant to last
The times are changing and it's
Hard to find your way
When you’re on the road coming face to face
With your glory days
Now you have reached the age where the past begins to fade
And you’re trying hard to not forget the promise that you made
Graduation day we promised that this friendship was so strong
And we would always stick together no matter what went wrong
You always told me that life would stay the same
But this small family has gone their separate ways
Could someone stop the clock
And try to let me stay
Just another month or another year in those glory days
You never told me
That things aren’t meant to last
Like days of glory
And chasing down the past
Nothing last forever but what is left to say
When you’re all alone
Trying to get back home
To those glory days
Ahhhh Ahhhh

There were times
In the summer
There were moments I thought
He’d change
But the seasons come
And the seasons go
And the seasons rearrange
Soon my time
Got more busy
Full of errands to keep life on track
Walk the dog
Clean the kitchen
Try my best not to keep looking back
Though your choice was right
Still the days are long
Till you’re kicked to the curb
Thinking where you went wrong
Now I’m trying to find
A little piece of mind to stay strong
I just thought there’d be more than this
There were times
In the summer
There were moments I knew he’d leave
There were signs
I was selfish
And perhaps a bit too naive
Now our friends
Have opinions
And it feels like they’ve taken a side
So wipe the tears
Take a deep breath
Try your best now to swallow your pride
They can say what they want
They’re not out out on their own
And the one without fault
Well they can throw the first stone
Now I’m trying to find
A little piece of mind while alone
I just thought there’d be more than this
With all the ups and downs
We still somehow
Don’t really know what life will bring
Still we keep searching for
Something more
To what it all must mean
Now I see your face
And I see your smile
It is worth all the pain
And it’s worth every trial
I have started to find
A different piece of mind
that’s worth while
Yes I see your face
And I see your smile
It is worth all the pain
And it’s worth every trial
I have started to find
A different piece of mind
That’s worth while
And I’ll never need more than this

I told you that night as you held me tight
I don’t want this to come an end
I wish I could stay, but I’ll write everyday
Till I’m safe in your arms once again
And although were apart you’re still here in my heart,
I’ll be gone but come right away home.
Oh please lord let me come home
Till then oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home
Oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home again
Oh think of me when you’re alone
Whenever you travel or roam
Oh please lord let me come home
I’ve been up for six nights but I’m trying to write
And I think about all we’ve been through
Our future looked bright but they sent me to fight
Without thinking about what to do
In the fields there you stand with a gun in your hand
And you can’t help but dream about home
Oh Lord let me go home
Till then oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home
Oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home again
Oh think of me when you’re alone
Whenever you travel or roam
Oh please lord let me come home
No, men weren’t meant to live this life
Where your teeth are all clenched
Up and down through trenches you race
No, men weren’t meant to hide in the mud
With another man’s blood on your face
God this place
I’m sick and I’m cold
And the men were just told we might not make it out through to the night
I don’t want you to fear
I will always be here
and I’ll gonna keep doing what’s right
If I’m destined to fall I will give it my all
And I’ll make sure you’re safe back at home
Oh please Lord let me come home
Till then oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home
Oh lord let me come home
Oh my lord let me come home again
Oh think of me when you’re alone
Whenever you travel or roam
Oh please lord let me come home

How many miles will you keep on walking
Until you see that you’re still where you begin
How many wars will you keep on fighting
Until you see that you're never gonna win
How many seas will you keep on sailing
Until you find where adventure begins
How many times will you keep on praying
Until you're free from the guilt of your sin
How many times can you say you’re happy
How many times can you look at me and lie
How can you break away from these days of old
You take what you’ve got and you turn it into gold
How many years will you keep on working
Till your skin is torn and there’s nothing but bone
How many times will you keep on lookin’
Till you find freedom in a place your own
How many people will you keep on lovin’
Till your heart stops hurting and you start to thrive
How many people will keep on dying
To save the people that you wanna keep alive
How long can you keep on crying
How long can you keep on lying
The answer’s clear how to fix these days of old
You take what you’ve got and you turn it into gold
When I was young I remember you told me
While we were poor and hungry and cold
How can you break away from these days of old
You take what you’ve got and you turn it into gold

We haven’t yet properly met.
Or maybe we already did.
Perhaps I have known you for all of my life.
And you knew me when I was a kid.
Well, I’m sorry if that were the case.
I had lots of growing to do.
And there’s no guarantee there’s not more still to come.
But it’s worth it if it brought me to you.
So forgive me if I start to shake
There is so much I still haven’t said
I’m always one step behind but I’m one jump ahead
This life has no sure guarantees
With its twists and it turns down the road
But I’m a team player and once were a team
I’ll be with you to lighten the load
I don’t know yet the things you have gone through
As for me I have gone through it all
And I think we deserve something good in our lives
Where we’ll never let each other fall
I’ll admit I’m not always too smart
I can get pretty sick in the head
I maybe two steps behind but I’m one jump ahead
I wish that I had more to offer
Even still, I can promise you this
You will have and long life and you won’t go unloved
And your mornings will start with a kiss.
You’ll have married a hopeless romantic
Who loves his city, his family, and home
And you don’t have to go through this life
Thinking you have to go through it all on your own
I still don’t know if you exist
Or if it’s a hopeless romance
But I don’t want to go through the rest of my life
Without having taken that chance
I never been much good at patience
But in life if you wanting to thrive
You have to go through it, the good and the bad
That’s just part of being alive
I can’t wait till the day that we meet
And you’re not just a hope in my head
I may be one step behind
I may be ten steps behind
But for you I’ll take a hundred and nine
Jumps ahead

It had come to the end of the summer
It was four years since I’d seen her face
She had asked if I wanted to catch up
At the park in our old special place
She had told me of her life after college
And how much she had missed the old gang
Bout how they all moved on to new cities
And how this town won’t be the same
I asked why
Why do seasons change
Why can’t a moment just stay the same
The rearranging of life
Is fine for some
But one thing remains
Things that fell so secure in the past
Through the years they don’t tend to last
The people that call me their friend
All left in the end
You start off with hope but your days become long
'Till you’re kicked to the curb thinking where you went wrong
So how can you sit there and think I know how to move on
She told me I wish that I had all the answers
And I wish there was more I could do
But you can’t live too much in the past
I know that much is true
Yes I wish that I had all the answers
But this one thing will always be clear
Whether we win or we lose we always can choose
Just where we will go from here

Time goes by and the sun still comes up in the sky
The world still turns as we try to learn and the cloud keeps on rolling by
The cards that we’re dealt hit under the belt
When it comes to our faults and our fears
We scratch and we fight but at the end of the night
There’s only one question not clear
Just where do I go from here
Tougher skin
It can help when the world starts to spin
Times can change, life can rearrange
Even before you learn to begin
Life throws you a curve for you to observe
And to take note of all that you hear
When your fears are controlled
Life can turn into gold
With the morning’s new sun drawing near
So where do I go from here
I know in my heart
That I am apart
Of something bigger than what I see here
Take a breath close my eyes
Time to take wings and fly
There’s a new better life drawing near
So where do I go from here
